Staff
Director Sara Hallatt started at the Bag Factory in March 2011. She comes from a project management and marketing background. Sara was part of the team that produced the Opening and Closing ceremonies of the 2010 FIFA World Cup and has produced events around the world. She has an honors degree in Dramatic Arts from the University of the Witwatersrand.
Our Deputy Director James French has been with the Bag Factory for the past decade. He is currently completing his Masters at the University of the Witwatersrand, which focuses on economic sustainability in the Visual Arts sector in Johannesburg.
Video artist and aspirant curator Bulelwa Mbele is currently our project assistant for 20 Fine years, a print portfolio projects supported by the Gauteng Province and printed at the Artist Proof studios.
