    The About Art Programme

The Skills Workshop programme is aimed at Artists and people interested in learning more about art and art-based practices. All the workshops, discussions and lectures in this informal programme are aimed at accommodating people keen to learn more about art in a relaxed interactive environment. The subject matter of the workshops is varied, from the legalities involved in copyright-law, to debating photographic ethics, to hands on projects relating to video, digital or performance art.

    Programme Outcomes

    - To stimulate creativity

    - To fill the educational gaps in the visual arts sector

    - To allow artists to network and learn by exchange

    Application and selection

Facilitators are both approached by the Bag Factory as well as there being an open opportunity for submissions. All applicants are requested to send through:

    - their CV

    - a one-page proposal on their concept.

    - a concise 2-3 page proposal on the content of the workshop, who the target audience is, and the anticipated outcomes of the workshop.

    - a 1 page motivation letter as to why the project should be selected.

    - a copy of the facilitators’ ID or Passport

Participants will be required to provide a narrative and financial report at the end of the project.

Please send the proposal in email form with attachments to: info@bagfactoryart.org.za

Submissions are sent to the programme selection committee who will make the final decision.
